Recent Developments

There have been two recent editorials which discuss the importance of blood viscosity in heart disease.  Scott Rollins, M.D. wrote an article entitled "Is Your Heart Pumping Sludge?"  in the Grand Junction Free Press (May 6, 2012). This can be viewed at http://www.gjfreepress.com/article/20120504/HEALTH/120509982.

FYI:  Meridian Valley Lab is a commercial lab which offers blood viscosity testing on patient samples.  The analyzer they use is the Hemathix SCV-200, an instrument I'm familiar with.  I can vouch for the instrument.  The laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, which is as good an indication of a well-run lab as anything out there, although I have no firsthand experience with the lab.
